Abby Fenton recently joined the Humanity Reboxed team. We asked her to give us a story of why she decided to join our team. This is what she said:
I decided to join the Humanity Reboxed mission because of a tragic yet touching story of a young man's life circumstances. This man had been on the streets for two years when another man attacked him, and was severely injured. After weeks of staying in a hospital recovering from a brain bleed, he was released. He had no hope. It was in this turmoil that our paths crossed. It started as a friendly conversation, but as our conversation deepened, he shared with me some of the poems he wrote. Although most revealed his utter hopelessness, he began to recite a particular poem, and at that moment his face lit up with excitement. He wrote of a conversation he had with a young woman who filled him with hopefulness and self-worth. It was clear that this short conversation made a positive impression in his life.
Through this young man's story, I discovered the lasting implications of a simple conversation. It is my goal, through love and conversations to be a positive impact on the lives touched by Humanity Reboxed.
First off, I would like to thank every single person who has supported the growth of Humanity Reboxed. We would not be where we are today if it wasnt for our generous supporters. I persnonally garentee that your support is going to make an impact on someones life.
I would like to take a moment to explain our future. After discussing our situation with my partner, we have decided to take Humanity Reboxed to the next level. Beginning next week, we are going to start the process of becoming a Non-profit organization.
The boxes you have purchased are under great care. We have a total of 57 boxes sold! Our first set of boxes is set to be delivered on Friday in downtown Sacramento.
Please share Humanity Reboxed with everyone you know! If we can spark a fire, this thing will grow rapidly.
Thank you so much for your support!
